Chocolate Covered Strawberry Dessert is a delectable way to enjoy chocolate covered strawberries but in a dessert. If you love chocolate covered strawberries like we do, this one is sure to become a favorite for you. The best part about this recipe is that it is very simple to make.
The Ingredients
It uses ready-made sugar cookie dough for the crust. It can be found in the refrigerator section in our grocery store. You spread it into a 9×13 baking pan and bake it until it is golden.
The cream cheese will need to be whipped until it is smooth. Having the cream cheese at room temperature will help it whip smoother. Once it is whipped, you add in the sugar, and the vanilla extract. If you made homemade vanilla extract, this is the perfect recipe to show it off! It is delicious in the cheesecake layer.
Use fresh strawberries. This is so good in the summer with garden fresh strawberries!
Assembling the Dessert
The cookie crust will need to cool completely before you spread on the cheesecake layer.
For the strawberries, you can slice them and lay them on in a pretty pattern on top of the cheesecake layer, or you can dice them and lay them on top. Either one will look beautiful, and it will taste fantastic!
The chocolate layer can be milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, or white chocolate chips. They will be melted with a small amount of shortening and put into a resealable bag. To put the melted chocolate into a resealable bag I put the bag in a glass with the edges of the bag rolled over the top of the glass. Then I put the melted chocolate in the bag, sealed it, and snipped off a small corner of the bag to drizzle the chocolate over the strawberries.
Once the chocolate is all drizzled, chill the dessert until the chocolate is set. Your Chocolate Covered Strawberry Dessert is ready to serve.
