Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Grease or spray cooking spray the 9x13 baking pan.
Press the cookie dough into the bottom of the pan.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Cool completely.
In the mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add in the sugar and the vanilla. Beat well. Add in the whipped topping and mix well.
Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the completely cooled crust.
Slice or dice the strawberries.
Arrange the strawberries single layer on top of the cream cheese layer.
Melt the chocolate chips and the shortening in a small bowl in the microwave in 30 second increments stirring each time until they are fully melted.
Place a resealable bag in a glass, folding the top of the bag over the sides of the glass. Then put the melted chocolate in the resealable bag and close it. Snip a small corner off on the resealable bag. Drizzle the chocolate over the top of the strawberries.
Place in the fridge until the chocolate is set.
Slice and it is ready to serve.
Cover and keep refrigerated.
