Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef browned
  • ½ lb Ground Sausage browned
  • 29 oz Fire Roasted Tomatoes
  • 3 oz Tomato Paste
  • 30 oz Chili Pinto Beans
  • 15 oz Kidney Beans rinsed
  • 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 4 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • tsp Pepper Flakes
  • Salt & Pepper to Taaste

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef and ground sausage. Drain off the grease. Put the meat in the slow cooker.
  • To the slow cooker add fire roasted tomatoes, tomato paste, chili beans, rinsed kidney beans, pumpkin, chili powder, cocoa powder, pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir all the ingredients.
  • Cook in the slow cooker on low for approximately 6-8 hours or on high for about 4 hours.

Notes

For spicier chili you can use Italian or spicy sausage.  The pepper flakes can be adjusted to the level of heat you prefer.
