Grilled Parmesan Asparagus is a super delicious way to prepare asparagus. It's an easy recipe that can be prepared outside on the grill. When the warm summer weather arrives, we like to grill full meals outside rather than cook in the house. It helps keep our home cooler and there is just something about sitting outside with a cold drink grilling. Even if it's a weeknight it makes it feel more chill and relaxing.
Prepare the asparagus by removing the tough ends or peeling up the stalks a couple of inches to remove the woody ends. You can grill them as spears or slice into smaller bite sized pieces.
Using two sheets of aluminum foil that are about the same size fold them together to create a foil pan to cook the asparagus in.
Put olive oil in the foil pan.
Add the asparagus to the foil pan and give them a toss to coat with the olive oil. Add salt & pepper to taste.
Grill for about 15 minutes until the spears are almost fork tender. Add the minced garlic and grill for a few more minutes until they are fork tender.
Add the balsamic vinegar and toss with the asparagus.
Sprinkle on the parmesan cheese. The heat from the asparagus will melt the cheese.
Serve immediately.
