Apple Cinnamon Rolls are a wonderful combination of an apple pie filling and refrigerator cinnamon rolls. They are quick and easy to make, and they make your home smell heavenly!
Put the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in the small saucepan and melt the butter over medium heat.
Peel, core, and finely dice the apple. Add it to the saucepan. Cook for on medium heat until the apples are tender. It will take about 10 minutes.
In a small bowl whisk together the milk and corn starch. Whisk it well.
When the apples are tender stir in the milk and cornstarch mixture. Cook until the sauce thickens, stirring constantly. It will be just a couple of minutes.
When the sauce has thickened, remove it from the heat, and set it aside.
Grease the baking pan.
Place the cinnamon rolls cinnamon topping side up in the baking pan.
Using your fingers press a well in the middle of the cinnamon roll creating a well in the center.
Put about a tablespoon of the apple mixture in the well in each cinnamon roll. You may have a little extra of the apple mixture.
Bake the cinnamon rolls in the oven for 13-17 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes.
Remove the lid from the frosting container. Put it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Using a fork or a spoon, drizzle the frosting on the top of the rolls and apple filling.
Serve immediately.
