This lightly flavored seasoned rice is the perfect side dish for a flavorful entree or for when you want something simple. This recipe comes together quickly and easily. The hardest part is waiting for the rice to cook up.
Ingredients
The ingredients are panty items making it a convenient side dish when you’re in a pinch. The ingredients are Jasmine rice, water, minced garlic, onion flakes, chicken bouillon cube, dried marjoram, butter and olive oil.
I like the flavor that the Jasmine rice gives the side dish, but you can certainly use another type of rice if you prefer. This side dish is cooked according to the rice’s packaging directions. If you substitute another type of rice, follow the packaging directions for the amount of water and the cooking instructions.
I used minced garlic from a jar. So, there was no slicing or dicing of any ingredients. It’s simply measure and cook.
Cooking
This side dish is cooked according to the rice’s packaging directions. If you substitute another type of rice, follow the packaging directions for the amount of water and the cooking instructions. All the ingredients are adding immediately, put the lid on the pan, and bring it to a boil. The bouillon cube dissolves and mixes in as the water boils. So you don’t even need to prepare that in advanced.
Once the water boil, reduce the heat to a simmer, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let it set for 10 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
Serving
I could eat this as it is for a meal. It does pair wonderfully with Honey BBQ Pork Chops and Mandarin Corn. That is what it is pictured with. It is nice to serve with Crispy Fish. It’s simple to prepare so you can focus more on preparing the fish and the Lightly Flavored Seasoned Rice and the fish really complement each other too.
Happy Cooking!
