Garlic bread is something that when it is served with the meal it turns that meal into a warm comforting meal. I love it with a Lasagna, Chicken Penne Alfredo, even with roast beef. It is very simple to make, and it can be very economical to make too.
The Ingredients
I use 3 ingredients. The bread, butter, and Lawry’s Course Ground Garlic Salt with Parsley Flakes. That’s it. But I am a bit finick on these specific ingredients to achieve the flavor my family enjoys.
I like the bread to be unsliced. I prefer to slice it myself so I can get the sliced my preferred thickness. Also, there is a particular large discount store that has its own bakery in it. If I go to my local store around 10:30-11:00am they discount yesterday’s loaves of bread. I can get a loaf for $.40. It freezes well. It can be thawed and prepared for garlic bread, and no one knows it was 1 day old and frozen.
Since this recipe has very few ingredients, we want them to be good ones. So, I recommend using real butter.
I use Lawry’s Course Ground Garlic Salt with Parsley Flakes. A really light sprinkle of this on bread is perfect.
Preparation
I slice the loaf of bread into about 1-inch-thick slices, butter them, and lightly sprinkle each piece with the Lawry’s Course Ground Garlic Salt with Parsley Flakes.
After this, put the pieces together, wrap the loaf in aluminum foil for baking.
Bake It
It only needs about 15 minutes to bake. That is why it’s great to serve with a casserole or pasta dish. You’re likely using the oven anyway.
Serving it
If I am serving it to guests, I usually unwrap it and place it on a platter and cover it with a pretty towel or cloth napkin. I would recommend serving this with any casserole, hotdish, stew, soup, Lasagna, Chicken Penne Alfredo, even with roast beef. It’s even awesome with a grilled steak or chicken breast.
Hopefully Warm comforting garlic bread will be served with one of your meals soon!
