Honey BBQ Pork Chops are perfect for grilling. The tangy sweetness is delightful on pork chops and it’s a pork chop recipe the whole family will love!
The pork chops are marinaded in the Honey BBQ Sauce. More sauce is applied after grilling and if you love them extra saucy, there might be extra to dip each bite into too. Kids love dipping them!
Ingredients
It’s the Honey BBQ Sauce that makes these pork chops a favorite. The base for the BBQ sauce is ketchup with the sweetness from honey, a little zing from the chili flakes, and flavor from the onion flakes, low sodium soy sauce, and the minced garlic.
All of the ingredients are placed in a 2 cup bowl and mixed together. I use a bowl with a lid since sometimes there is extra. Then I can use it with the meal or another time.
One thing I like about this Honey BBQ sauce recipe is it is made with pantry items and ketchup. Everything I always have one hand. There are no special or unique ingredients. I can make it any time I want.
To marinade you place the pork chops and about 1/3 to 1/2 of the BBQ sauce in a resealable bag on in a bowl. Allow the meat to marinade before cooking. But if you don’t get much marinade time, don’t worry. Just coat the meat in the Honey BBQ sauce and grill. It’ll still pick up great flavor and be delicious.
Grilling
Once the pork chops have marinaded it’s time to heat up the grill and grill the pork chops. If the pork chops are about 3/4 inch thick, they will need to cook about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are no longer pink inside. Keep in mind they will cook some once you remove them from the grill. and pork is one of those meats than can quickly be overcooked making it tough and dry.
If you want the pretty grill marks like these have, after you’ve grilled them on both sides give the meat a 1/4 turn and grill for 1 minute, flip and grill that side for 1 minute.
Once they’re about done grilling, I’ll spoon a little extra sauce on the pork chops.
They can also be made in an air fryer, indoor grill, oven or in a fry pan. Just keep in mind that the cooking times might vary.
Serving
Once this is cooked, it’s ready to eat. If you’re wondering what to serve it with, I would recommend Vegetable Orzo Pasta. Especially if you are looking for something different with a wow factor. However, this is also great for a weeknight too. It scream summer to me with the Honey BBQ Pork Chops and the vegetables in the orzo pasta. If you’re wondering, in the picture it is served with Mandarin Corn and Lightly Flavored Seasoned Rice.
Happy Cooking!
