Easy Boiled Garlic Potatoes

Boiled Garlic Potatoes

Boiled Garlic Potatoes is a quick simple potato recipe that is a delicious side dish to any meat and vegetable.  When I need something easy from start to finish, this is my go-to dish.  It is also a perfect dish to use up the odd sized potatoes or the ones that have blemishes in them.

Preparation

Clean the potatoes and slice them into bite sized cubes.  The smaller the pieces the quicker they will cook up.  After slice the potatoes. rinse them using a strainer.  Then place them in a pan and add water.  Rinsing reduces the amount of starch that gets in the water.  It’s the starch from the potatoes that can make them foam up and boil over while they are cooking.  By rinsing them first, you’re reducing this possibility.  Also, don’t put a lid on the pan.  Keep them uncovered.  The lid does keep the heat in, but that also encourages the potatoes like to boil over too.

Cooking

Put the pan of potatoes on a burner and set it on medium to high heat.  Once the water has come to a boil, reduce the heat to a medium or to a low heat.  The waster should still be boiling, but a very low slow boil.  Let the potatoes boil until they are fork tender.

Once they are fork tender, drain the water off the potatoes with a strainer, add your butter and All-Purpose Seasoning to flavor the potatoes.  Toss with a spoon so the butter coats each potatoes piece as the butter melts.

Serving

Just place the Boiled Garlic Potatoes into a serving bowl and they are ready to eat immediately.  These potatoes taste wonderful with any meat and vegetable.  It’s a recipe that goes great with everything.  You need to give these a try!

Happy cooking!
