- 1 Small Saucepan
- 1 2.5 quart Baking Dish
- 1 Whisk
Ingredients
- 4 medium Potatoes thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp Butter
- ½ tbsp Flour
- 1 tsp Garlic minced
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 ½ cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- ½ tsp Paprika
- 1 Salt & Pepper to taste
- ½ tsp Parsley Flakes for garnishment
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a baking dish.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat melt butter and whisk in the flour and the minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly golden.
- To the saucepan, reduce the heat to low and add the milk, 1 cup cheese, onion powder, and paprika. Whisk until smooth and slightly thickened. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
- Slice the potatoes and put half in the baking dish. Top with half of the cheese sauce. Add the remaining potatoes and top with the last of the cheese sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes or until fork tender. Remove from the oven and top with the remaining cheddar cheese and return to the oven until the cheese is melted. It will take about 2-4 minutes.
- Garnish with dried parsley flakes. Let cool slightly before serving.
