Flavorful Taco Slaw
Flavorful Taco Slaw is very simple to make, and it is a blend of flavors that can take your taco to the next level of deliciousness. It is also a quick way to assemble your tacos too.
Ingredients
The recipe is made a Cole Slaw mix that you buy from the grocery store that is already shredded. However, you can shred a head of cabbage and measure out what is needed. I buy the pre-shredded mix in a bag that has red cabbage in it too. I like the extra colors. We eat with our eyes first!
The fresh cilantro will need to be chopped into smaller pieces.
The dressing or sauce is made with lime juice, avocado salsa, sour cream and canned green chilis. If you’re not familiar with Avocado salsa it is green and can be found by all the other salsas. If you wanted to substitute something else, I would recommend using Salsa Verde. Sour cream is added for a creaminess. I used canned green chilis, but you can use diced jalapeno peppers or any other kinds of peppers.
Mixing
Toss the Cole Slaw and Cilantro together.
In a separate smaller bowl mix together the lime juice, avocado salsa, sour cream, and green chilis. Pour this over the Cole Slaw and cilantro then mix them together.
Serving
To serve the Taco Slaw put your taco meat in a shell and top with the Flavorful Taco Slaw, add shredded cheese and chopped cilantro and enjoy! This can be served on any type of taco. However, it is wonderful on the Ultimate Fish Taco!

Equipment
- 1 Small bowl
- 1 Spoon
- 1 3-4 cup Bowl
Ingredients
- 2 cup Cole Slaw Mix or cabbage
- ¼ cup Cilantro chopped
- ½ tsp Lime Juice
- ½ cup Avocado Salsa
- ¼ cup Sour Cream
- 2 tbsp Green Chilis
Instructions
- Toss the Cole Slaw and the cilantro together.
- To make the sauce, in a small bowl mix together the lime juice, avocado salsa, green chilis, and the sour cream.
- Add the sauce to the Cole Slaw mix and stir.
- Serve immediately.
